Words fail when discussing the music of Pendle Poucher, aka Idmonster. There are no word pictures to be painted that can describe how he constructs his warm, sensual soundscapes, other than a complex marriage of organics and electronics. Machines bubble and spit beautiful nonsense into looped guitar patterns, while sonic snapshots of real life, both urban and pastoral, blow through like a summer breeze.
Leaving soundtracks for those with less vision, Idmonster conducts tiny symphonies that mimic the sounds of everyday life... on Mars. Think Hood, or maybe Dntel, and you're on the right track, but with a lifetime of territory to cover inbetween.

"A gorgeous four-track mini-CD that will have you hitting the replay button on your sound system, the Idmonster sound is best described as pastoral electronica.
Live guitars are looped into swirling digital beats which are shot through with evocative aural snapshots. Streams running over rocks, rain beating down on canvas and the sound of children playing touch on all of our memories of hotter months - which makes this the perfect soundtrack to a hot and hazy day." |
