The cinematic sounds of a sleepy robot searching for its past. Rewind Wonderland is comprised of people who dwell in different musical worlds, yet when their sounds quietly collide, the result is a taut ambient offering. The primary tone here is one of austerity, as sounds build slowly and smartly into scores for the widescreen.

There is quite an organic feel to Rewind Wonderland's electronic hum, and one can only speculate as to where the sound sources originate from. Whether it's the sequenced guitar sparks on "A Deeply Rooted Fear Of Trees", or the warm electric piano of "Professional Impulses", the quartet weave a lush tapestry of sharp-cornered rhythms and smooth harmonic lines. To Rococo Rot should really take notes here. |
